GENERAL SUMMARY

The job is a part of the DDN Technical Sales, Services and Support Team working at and with major global companies, supporting them on the latest leading-edge big data technologies. Working as part of a local and international team of DDN Engineers, in the most complex and demanding customers, solving their data challenges.

Primarily this will be for Customers (existing & new) in the MEA area. This will include up to 35% travel. DDN Solutions provide a range of established & new storage technologies, often in complex environments.

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
• Manage customer relationship post-sale to ensure the highest calibre customer satisfaction.
• Perform installation and maintain storage solutions at customer locations
• Manage technical support calls and travel to customer site for on-site resolutions
• Install, optimise, benchmark, troubleshoot and repair storage systems, RAID controllers, software drivers and servers, Fibre Channel products including switches, hubs, host bus adapters, host channels adapters and the associated interconnections.
• As part of the T3S technical team, participate in installations of new and upgraded storage systems throughout the region.
• Proactive maintenance and testing of DDN solutions
• Scope and provide detailed implementation planning documentation
• Provide professional level technical “as-built” documentation for all new installations.
• Provide high quality hardware support at Customer sites
• Provide initial software support, diagnosis and troubleshooting for new and existing Customers
• Work closely with wider DDN support teams for escalated issues (both hardware & software related).
• Contribute to the revisions of presentation materials for both Corporate and Regional specific documents.
• Participate in customer-focused seminars, tradeshows, events, and trainings.
• Conduct research and gain knowledge of all key products and technologies.
• Clearly communicate complex technical topics to the varied knowledge levels of internal account executives and external customers.
• Create and share weekly work summaries.
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities, ensuring all objectives are accomplished.
• Acquire and maintain a thorough and procedural understanding of DDN Sales Cycles, support processes, products, and services and a thorough technical understanding of like industries.
• Develop strong, trusted advisor type, relationships with Customer, other vendors & internal DDN colleagues in order to build repeat business.
• Uses technical skills to contribute to the development of company objectives and principles, and to achieve sales and services goals in creative and effective ways.
• Reporting requirements include: weekly performance reports to sales peers, monthly forecast of revenue recognition (commits and upside), and monthly business reviews (both direct team and sales reports).
• Perform other duties and projects as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES:
This position requires a dynamic, hard-working and ambitious individual, with good oral and written communication skills. Individuals will also possess strong leadership and interpersonal skill
• A BSc (hon) or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Sciences; or equivalent is required.
• Must have industry experience working with distributed and/or clustered file systems.
• Experience supporting sales efforts is essential to success in this position.
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities, ensuring all objectives are accomplished.
• Must have considerable knowledge of the HPC & Life Sciences space and be able to speak the technical vernacular of that industry.
• Must have strong communication skills, including: developing and delivering presentations; and connecting with customers via phone, face to face, and in written correspondences.
• Fluency in English
• Ability and willingness to travel (approximately 60% of the time).

The following are preferred technical requirements: Linux OS, Unix OS, Windows OS, Mac
OS, SCSI, Lustre, GPFS, CXFS, QFS, ZFS, NAS, SAN, Pearl, Shell Scripting, Solaris, and Visio.
